800 silver, handmade, France around 1890/1900.
This antique brooch was made of 800 silver. It has not been hallmarked, but was carefully and professionally tested by a goldsmith master who confirmed that is was made of at least 800 silver.
The brooch is worked in a round shape and carries a fine enamel painting made of partly translucent enamel, partly gold-plated. It depicts a women in a traditional Florentine garb. The back has also been enamelled. The upper border features a small spot of damaged enamel, which thankfully does not affect the painting. Otherwise the brooch is in very good condition. The small river pearl is also very well preserved.
The brooch was probably made in France between 1890 and 1900. Very rare.
