A fine quality English 1/4 repeater verge movement watch, in wonderful two-colour gold repousse pair cases (pink gold / yellow gold). 1st case with a pair of lovers, pierced, fantastic quality, 2nd case also pierced, mythical creatures and grotesque faces, bell, original silver dome, English king's coat of arms,
This watch is a very early signed Carbrier movement; still without numeration, verge cock with children's portraits, typical for the time around 1710, repeating hours and quarters, original, signed gold Champlevé dial; pink gold hands.
The movement works well and is covered by a beautiful silver cover, the repeating mechanism needs adjusting (restoration recommended).
Optically this watch is in excellent condition. Charles Cabrier I was one of the most important London watchmakers around 1700, listed from 1697-1724.
This watch is one of the earliest Charles Cabrier gold pocket watch repeater.
