Special pocket watch of Smith & Son with a 'split-seconds' chronograph function.
The enamel dial has an hour subdial, off-centre second hand and a separate subdial for the elapsed minutes of the chronograph function.
Signed several times, text is somewhat vague sometimes (please see photo).
The two identical chronograph hands are both started simultaneously, after which one hand can be paused while the other continues.
A complicated function, especially for such an old watch.
The cool gunmetal case adds a lot of character. Lids close well.
It is a high quality timepiece and it runs well.
Naturally, the split second chronograph function works properly.

I am sad to hear that you are unsatisfied with your purchase but happy to see that it is only the seconds hand that got loose during transportation. These watches of ± 120 years old often show small defect like these.
I am happy to send you a video to show you how to place it back since it is very very easy, or, ofcourse I would finance the transportation back to me so my watchmaker can do it for you so you do not have to worry about making a mistake.
I hope you understand the watch does not have a big problem and I am happy to help and put back the loose seconds hand.
