This lovely work of “Les Confessions” is an autobiographical book by Augustin d'Hippone, where he recounts his search for God.
There is a double purpose: confess his sins and faults directly to God (confession in the Christian sense), but also to proclaim the glory of God.
The work consists of thirteen books. It is a fundamental work, both by the depth of the analyses that are made only by the quality of the style of writing.
In books I to IX, Augustine recounts in chronological order his life from birth to his mother's death. Books X to XIII contain a meditation, a celebration of God.
