Editcam comes in two versions: DNS-21W and DNS-201W. The difference between the two is only found in the camera section: the DNS-21W has 2/3 inch FIT CCDs and the DNS-201W has 2/3 inch IT CCDs. This is reflected in the specifications of the sensitivity of the camera and the fact that the DNS-21W has a two-piece filter wheel. The rest of the specifications are the same. They are switchable cameras for 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratio and feature digital signal processing of 10 bit with a sampling frequency of 18 MHz. The hard drive offers a recording capacity of 25 - 30 minutes at AVR-70BH quality. (8-bit M-JPEG compression with a data rate of 160 kbit/sec). 4 channels of uncompressed audio are recorded at 16-bit resolution.
The editing possibilities are also retained and can even be done by means of a PC and the Remote User Interface. Other important features are the Retro Loop (the continuous recording in a loop of 3 - 5 minutes before the REC button is actually pressed for recording) and the Single Frame/Timelapse Recording capability.
