In 1995, the American astronaut Norman Thagard lived and worked as the first American for three months in the Russian space station Mir. These NASA/Sony photos give a picture of this historical mission. Two NASA pictures are made in Star City during training, one NASA photo shows cosmonaut Strekalov playing on a guitar and a NASA photo shows the very special interior of the Russian space station. The smaller telephoto (approx. 13 x 18 cm) shows five astronauts together in the Mir. All photos with explanatory text.
