- Vito Acconci The Peoplemobile 1979
In association with Forum 79 Audio-Visueel Middelburg, Museum Boymans Van-Beuningen Rotterdam, Van Abbemuseum Eindhoven and Stichting Corps de GardeGroningen, Vito Acconci and Stichting De Appel organised The Peoplemobile, a project for five Dutch city squares.
The peoplemobile consisted of a lorry, twenty-eight metal panels of 200 × 90 × 6 cm and sound equipment.
The peoplemobile stayed in one of the locations for three days, and each day a different construction was built: a table with sofa, a shelter or a wall. On the lorry were four speakers, which were broadcasting custom sounds and messages.
