A Zeeland bread knife with a silver handle. The handle is decorated with a tyre decor of vines with c-scrolls and figural representations and has been crowned with a dog.
The blade is marked with the name of the ironsmith "D. De Jager JL "from Middelburg. Dankert de Jager Daniel founded his iron ship on the cross Quay in Middelburg in 1838. In 1892 the company was taken over by H.J. Kruijder. The knife was dates from the 19th century between 1838 and 1892 and is marked with the old sword. The master mark in the handle is unreadable and begins with the letter N.
The length of the knife is 32 cm and the weight is 215 grams.
The knife is in excellent condition.
