This beautiful lamp, that has been restored with great attention to detail, was designed by the French engineer Jean-Louis Domecq commissioned by Jieldé and was mainly used as a work light in work shops. What makes this Jieldé lamp so unique is its hinge point. Normally, a loose cord will be used in these pivoting lamps, often causing friction and tearing at the hinge points. In the 1950s, the French engineer devised a safe, reliable and patented alternative where copper rings were placed in the hinge points. These rings conduct the electricity, so wire damage will not occur.
This wonderful five-armed Jieldé lamp is an original lamp from 1950 with a wonderful, brushed stainless-steel/aluminium look which will suit any vintage, modern or industrial interior. The heavy base creates perfect balance in any position. This base is fully customised and its weight has been increased, stabilising it in each position The maximum height of the lamp is 230 cm. This lamp ha a dent-free lamp shade and a perfectly round and unpleated handle, which is very exceptional. An absolute top repair!
