BMW - 318i E30 (136 PS) cabriolet 1992 - First registered in Germany, BMW AG - Probably the only one first registered in Europe
Only produced for Canada and the USA, this is a BMW E30 cabriolet with the engine and chassis of a BMW 318i.
Canada version (km speedometer)
This is probably the only example of a first registration in Germany or Europe (first registered at BMW AG)
The then most coveted engine of the E30, the M42 four-valve engine of the 318i, wasn’t actually in the cabriolet.
Only in later years, were the export versions for the USA and Canada equipped with this.
The four-cylinder/four-valve model has a noticeably higher torque than the small six-cylinder of the E30 320i and consumes significantly less.
When you are in this car, it actually feels like being in a decent M3, albeit much more understated.
This car has never been out of Germany and has been part of my private collection for more than five years.
Date of first registration: 25 June 1992
Date of manufacture: 21 June 1991
Total mileage only 140,495 km, as confirmed by the available documents, it has a virtually complete inspection record.
Inspection II with engine oil change was carried out by Classic-Weiß-Blau in Nuremberg at 140,430 km.
Clutch, exhaust, brakes, shock absorbers and tyres (Continental) were replaced before about 3,000 km.
From a subjective perspective, the car has the driving performance of an E30 325i cabriolet with the handling of a four-cylinder 318i or M3 (better weight distribution as, unlike the six-cylinder, it is not top heavy) and, thanks to its excellent technical condition, it drives like a new car of its time.
Euro 2 possible (through replacement of the cold start valve)
Catalytic convertor, manual gearbox, heated seats, tinted windows, etc., etc.
Sporty and very powerful but also economical. Reliable and perfectly suitable for everyday use.
Definitely a very worthwhile investment, particularly as well maintained BMEW E30s are attracting good prices as a rule, and with this vehicle, we are talking about a true rarity; namely the only known example of a BMW E30 cabriolet first registered in Europe with this engine fitting.
Anyone in the know will appreciate what is being offered here!

The hood is like new and one hundred per cent sealed.
Three small cosmetic flaws on the bodywork:
Minor paint damage (patched up) as well as a small dent in the driver's door, and small dent (patched up with a paint stick) on the upper rear left hand-side panel (both easily remediable), see photos.
This chic and above all unique BMW convertible has been in my private collection of future classics since summer, 2012.
Unfortunately, due to relocation and lack of space, I am forced to part ways with this unique E30.
The car can be viewed and picked up close to Ravensburg (Germany, close to Lake Constance).
