Roman Iron " Pugio " Dagger - 29,00 x 6,50 cm.
Roman iron pugio dagger with bulb in the pommel, tripartite grip that widens in the center and slightly protuding guard. Triangular blade with central nerve attached to the hilt through an extension of the sheet inside it, obtaining better solidity.
The pugio was a dagger used by Roman soldiers as a sidearm. It was intended as an auxiliary weapon. The pugio was probably a stabbing weapon used by the soldiers of the Roman Republic legions from around the year 100 a. C. The Romans adopted it from the Iberians, in the same way as the gladius hispaniensis.
