Very rare golden brass saxophone, Alto in mi b. Antoine-Joseph alias Adolphe Sax, born in 1814 in Dinant (Belgium), died in Paris in 1894, designed and created this saxophone. The bell shows the still readable inscription: (Musician and serial number) // Saxophone en mi b breveté // Adolphe Sax à Paris // Fteur de la Mson Mltre de l' Empereur (with AS logo)
Serial No.: 233XX of 1861.
Original ''Mayeur'' rosewood mouthpiece.
White leather pads in very good condition.
