On offer is a fabulous and rare set of Montblanc Noblesse (3rd Generation) fountain and ballpoint pens done in solid brass with a heavy coat of gold-plating in a striated guillochè pattern. The Noblesse line of writing instruments by Montblanc was initially launched in 1974 (1st Generation), followed by the 2nd Generation in 1980 and the 3rd Generation from 1987 onwards. The 3rd Generation of the Noblesse range was only available in various marbled lacquered colours, in silver plated and in gold plated finishes. At the end of the 1990s, the Noblesse line was replaced by the Noblesse Oblige range, a lower-priced line (resin bodies versus brass on the Noblesse line) that clearly set a demarcation in terms of price positioning from the Meisterstuck range. The set on offer is the rarest gold-plated version and it is in a MINT state. The nib on the fountain pen is of 18kt solid gold, graded FINE and includes the original Montblanc converter.
