In 1882, Armando Río y Cuervo and his brothers ran the watch-making workshop founded by their uncle Ramón in Havana. Cuervos y Sobrinos soon became a reference and a notorious rival for the most prestigious brands from New York, Paris and Rome. Cuervo y Sobrinos produced their own watches while continuing to sell the most famous watch-making names. Einstein, Caruso, Churchill, Hemingway, Gable, Eleonora Duse, Neruda, all became faithful customers of the renowned house.
Antique chronograph watch from 50s, in chrome-plated steel in perfect cosmetic condition. Diameter: 38 mm without crown. No scratches on glass, signed steel back, two-tone original dial with no flaws, silvery hands. Mechanical movement, Landeron 48 calibre handwind. Chronograph functions perfectly, reset to zero at 12 hours, watch keeps perfect time, has been checked by a watchmaker prior to sale. Black colour strap, 19 cm long without buckle.
